Hi........my name is Debbi and I live on the beautiful coast of Southern California just south of Los Angeles. I have been a veterinary technician for 20 years and have two children, Kiley and Logan. I got my start in the cat fancy in 1985 with the help of a co-worker at a kennel I was working at. She had this great idea to take our 'Kennel Cat' (KC) to a local cat show. It sounded like fun, so I went with her. She thought it was boring... I fell in love with it!
I aquired my first Persian in 1986. She was a beautiful 6 month old, chunky, tortoiseshell, with the most beautiful copper eyes. I knew nothing about the Persian breed at the time- but to me she was perfect. I soon found out she was only pet quality, so I started showing her in the household pet class in TICA. It was this experience that allowed me to learn about the breed, how to groom them properly, and what cats and lines were winning in the championship classes. This set the stage for my break into the pedigree world!
Alizara Persians was registered in 1989 in CFA, TICA, and ACFA. We have shown mostly in TICA and have many International and Regional awards to our credit. We enjoy showing our cats in both CFA and TICA. This past year we ventured into campaigning in CFA. Our first homebred GC is also a RW!!! We are so excited and proud of this accomplishment. We have had a great experience in CFA and have met some wonderful people.
We love our cats and every one of them is a pet, first and foremost. Keeping the number of cats down to a minimum allows us to let our cats live in our home, without cages, as pampered pets. Our cats combine the International Winning lines of Whozz, Kissables, Harwood, Budmar, Artemis, Courrone, Wishstar, Pajean, and Keeperkit, to name a few. All breeding cats are DNA PKD negative and screened for HCM yearly. As a veterinary technician I take great pride in the health and condition of my cats and work closely with my veterinarians to insure that I am doing all I can to produce healthy, happy, well socialized and genetically sound kittens. We have only 3 breeding cats at this time, so we do not breed just to get kittens. We breed to the standard in hopes of producing our next show kitty. Occasionally we may have a kitten or two available that does not have what it takes to be a show kitty, but will make a loving companion for the right person. .
